My First Yard Sale Outing of 2009

(note: you can click on each picture to see a larger version and use your back button to return to this page)

Boy did I have fun this morning. I went to my first set of yard sales of the season and found some great buys. I woke-up about 5:30am and had some coffee, let the dogs out to go potty, gave my bones and muscles time to wake up, and then I was out the door by 7 am with my huge assortment of tote bags so that I did not have to use any plastic bags. They come in handy so that I do not have to try and hold all my item in one hand while looking with the other. So much more convenient.

I found some awesome bargains and am so tickled. I was able to find several items for my Grandsons and myself.

metal tree with bird on top, $4

XBox with 5 games for a mere $60
a nice pair of small but good binoculars for $3
5 inch color TV $2 for my craft room (I love it, it's hooked up and works great...so now I can
watch HGTV while crafting)
spa booties (w/ a purple lady on them) that you nuke to heat up for 25 cents
spa gift set for 50 cents
bag of lace for 25 cents
bag of material 25 cents
metal tree w/ a bird on top $4 I'm going to hang my Dotee Dolls on it
Audbon Watch and Tin for 25 cents - was going to take it apart and use the
gears, etc in crafting but the watch works and makes various bird sounds
ziplock of embroidery floss 25 cents
vintage picture 25 cents
harvest corn kit 25 cents
10" sled for 25 cents
Good shoes for the youngest G-son for 50 cents

I also got a few other miscellaneous items, some clothing items and some baby items for my Niece who is due in July. All in all, I had a great time and found some wonderful bargains. Even though I did not make it to all of the yard sales. There were a total of 24 yard sales today, but my legs wore out on me so I only got to about 1/2 of them.

5" TV for craft room, $2

During the whole time driving around. Starting and stopping my van was doing great. Then I came home to unload and chance clothes (I was burning up - hot flashes) before I went to Krogers and Wal-mart. When I got ready to head to Krogers and Wal-mart the van was giving me a hard time. It was not stay started and I ended up by coming back into teh house. My Sister said to call the guy at the shop that worked on it because he thought he fixed it, but it's not. So I will try again, to go to the grocery store, and hopefully this time Iw ill be able to make it.

I really need to pick up some Black Cohosh, as my doctor said he has had good luck with it helping with hot flashes. And believe me, I need some help as I am constantly in a state of freezing and then burning up, and freezing again. Plus I have not been sleeping well due to the night sweats.

I took more pictures, but the blog will only allow me to upload 4 pictures.... so until I learn what I need to do to upload more than 4 pictures, I guess you folks just won't get to see the other items. Sorry. If you went to some yard sales this weekend, I hope you were able to find some really good bargains like me.

  1. Great haul! The Dotees will look lovely on that tree! Cannot wait to see a shot of it with them.

I have been making the rounds to some church sales lately. They are the best and I have got a lot of vintage jewelry and such.
