Day 28 Giveaway - A Two'fer

Hello Everyone,

I'm going to keep today's post short.  I had a very full, exciting, and fun day yesterday, which I will tell you more about later.  I have a double header for you today.

The first item is a pair of post earrings, in brown tones.  They look much, much better in person (sorry about my lousy photography). The next item is a brooch, that has the word 'iris' on it as well as a stamped image of an iris.

**Mandatory Entry**
Post a comment to my question:

How are you most like your Mother?
(Thanks Julie for the question)

My Answer:

My Mother knew how to make a dollar go farther, and so do I.  She was creative, she would make clothes for us without a pattern, she came up with inventive ways to use items.  And I tend to follow in her footsteps.
I miss her so very much, she was my best friend!

  1. Well, I look a lot like my mom. At different points in our lives, we have been mistaken for sisters.

Love the earrings and the brooch. They are so pretty!

  10. Oh MY!!!! THESE ARE JUST GORGEOUS!!!! *_*

My precious mom taught me how to sew by hand since I was a child, I left those teachings until recently I began to do it again... and I love it!

I've always wanted to have the patience she has, because I'm very impatient sometimes! =p

  11. Hello BrendaLea,

I can't really say in which ways I am most like my mother. We both like to read, create, and decorate, and have a similar style.

    Hugs,
    Birgit

  12. well, first I would say, manners--especially the ones regarding etiquette like rsvping,(dying art) and what is appropriate what isn't...like calling people in the middle of the night just to chat. (not appropriate) not wearing white shoes, slacks, skirt or handbag after labor day.
then is sharing that with my kids and being kind of tough on certain things.

My mom had a hard life growing up, and made her way from the midwest to NYC at the age of 18 just post depression, during war time to make a life for herself. she has determination, and I am like that also.
    :)
