24 Hour Cascade Challenge and GIVEAWAY

I had an opportunity to take 24 Hour Cascade Challenge from My Blog Spark and Cascade Complete.  And of course I took it.  Who wouldn't?  Right!  Besides I was given a $25 Walmart gift card to give away as well.

This was a fun fun challenge because it came with an easy and delicious recipe to make.  Blueberry Cobbler.  Along with a wonderful Corelle dish to bake the cobbler.

Thankfully I had all the ingredients on hand for the cobbler.  Except I used fresh frozen blueberries that I had in my freezer.

After the cobbler was gone (it didn't last long in my household) I was to leave it out for 24 hours.  Then into the dish washer, without rinsing or pre-washing the dish, along with one of the Cascade Complete All-in-1 ActionPacs.  Basically that was the challenge.

As you can see the dish went into the dishwasher along with other grungy dishes, and the Cascade ActionPac did a pretty good job I have to say.

My water glasses were spotless (something I don't get very often), and some glasses that had been left outside for quite a while and were pretty grimy came out pretty darned clean.  I have to be honest, the cobbler dish did not come out totally clean.  Was it because I used frozen blueberries?  Maybe my hot water isn't as hot as most dishwashers (my water heater is turned down, and I don't have the newest dishwasher, and I don't usually let me dishes set that long)?  Am I happy with the results?  Yes!  Did the Cascade ActionPacs work?  Yes!  Would I buy them?  You bet!

My Answer:

I like to sit and pet or play with my fur babies (Coffee and Latte'), and if I am not doing that I want to play with my craft supplies either creating something, sorting through my various craft supplies, jotting down ideas, or searching the web for ideas or reading craft blogs.  My fur babies and my crafting are relaxing to me.  :-)

Day 28 Giveaway - A Two'fer

My Mother knew how to make a dollar go farther, and so do I.  She was creative, she would make clothes for us without a pattern, she came up with inventive ways to use items.  And I tend to follow in her footsteps.

Irises!!  

Any type or color.  I love them so much I have Iris jewelry.  I collect anything 

'Iris' related!  Pictures, figurines, or anything with an Iris on it.

Day 25 Giveaway - with only 5 days left

Today I have something I made a few years back, when my eyes were in much better shape and I was able to do bead weaving on a regular basis.  Actually during that time I was bead weaving constantly.  I couldn't get enough of it and wove beads while in the car on my way to a doctor's appointment, I wove while waiting to see the doctor, I also wove in front of the TV, while chatting with friends over a cup of coffee, when I went to visit my Mother, and anytime I was sitting still I was working those beads into one project or another.

What I have today is a Beaded Lighter Cover.  It fits over a Bic lighter. If you smoke, or light candles, burn your trash or fallen leaves, are an arsonist (only kidding), or know someone that uses a lighter for whatever reason.... then enter to win today's giveaway.

The pattern on the lighter cover is my own design.  It has a white background with hearts in various sizes and colors around the entire cover.  It is easy to replace the lighter (it will NOT ship with the lighter, I believe that is against the postal regulations) by simply pushing the bottom of the lighter up and our of the cover.  But it is tight enough that the lighter will not slip out on it's own.  With this unique cover no one will mistake this lighter for their own,  they may try and talk you out of it, or try and take it for themselves.  It is a One Of A Kind!  I promise!

Giveaway Day 24 - Let's Make This A Green Day

I'm not talking about the color.  We did that yesterday with the cuff.  You have seen quite a few of my own creations, how about making this giveaway, one where you can create and show me something.

How would you like to help me do some recycling, and create a piece of art at the same time?  Today I am going to give you that chance.

I have a total of 3 batches of items today for you, that you could use in scrap booking, card making, mixed media, and even jewelry making if you choose.  It is totally up to you. 

This first set of items include 5 dyed large shipping tags that are made by a friend of mine, Teresa.  She has a shop on Etsy, which is currently closed until April 1st.  She makes the most gorgeous paper bag books, steampunk cuffs, altered keys and glass tiles.  Her art is simply amazing.  There is also a paper bag book ready for you to turn into a scrapbook or maybe a mixed media book.  And to top it off a selection of fibers in purples and blues.

This batch involves a mix of decorative papers, 10 poker chips for you to alter, a box of glass beads, and 12 tiny vintage images.

This last batch has two packages of vintage rick-rack and 8 different laces with most being one yard or more

Day 23 Giveaway - What Do You See?

Do you remember on Day 5 Giveaway where I gave away a Red Cuff bracelet?  Well today we are having the Green Cuff Bracelet.  This one is larger and will fit most people.  It's fits me and I am NOT a tiny gal, that is for sure.

I made this with a variety of glass beads, stone beads, metal beads, and cat's eye chip beads strung on five strands of memory wire.  Because of the way it is made, there is no clasp to fiddle with,  it is very comfortable and adjust to the wearers wrist size.

Handmade by me, there are two birthday cards, one Happy Spring card, and three Easter Postcards. Along with envelopes for the cards.  I used various techniques such as:  rubber stamping, dry embossing, heat embossing, and serendipity squares.

And I will also include a pair of dog or cat earrings, your choice.  Made with sterling silver french hooks, glass brads, and charms.  I will get a picture taken and posted a little later today.

I don't have a picture of them yet, but will get it posted later today.  They are really adorable.

Day 21 Giveaway with One Week Left

Good Morning (evening if you are across the sea) Everyone,

Today's giveaway is for something I am very proud of. I created this piece of jewelery by covering a polished stone with a blend of different polymer clay colors.  Once it was baked, I gently sliced through the clay and removed the stone.  I then strung this amulet on purple waxed linen using various purple beads to accent it.

I hope you like it and will enter to win this piece of jewelry that I am very proud of.  It is large enough to carry a few coins, or a special stone or two.  Or maybe you would rather store a love note inside.  The choice will be yours if  you are the lucky winner.

If you create art of any kind, what inspires your creativity?

My Answer:

It depends on the material that I use.  If I am working on mixed media, then it is the vintage photos that I use that inspires me.  If I am working with yarn, it is the person for whom I am creating the object for, that inspires me.  If I am scrapbooking, it is the colors in the photo(s) that inspire me.
